Red Oak Capital Holdings
Our History

Company Overview

A disciplined approach to credit, leadership, and long-term value creation.

Red Oak Capital Holdings was established to bring institutional quality and operational rigor to the fragmented and underserved world of small-to-mid-balance commercial real estate lending. Since its founding in 2015, the company has grown from a boutique lender to a nationally recognized platform, backed by seasoned leadership and a clear, strategic mandate.

New Leadership

A pivotal shift occurred in 2020, when industry veteran Gary Bechtel joined as CEO, leading a full-scale restructuring of Red Oak’s operations, credit philosophy, and executive team. Under his leadership, the firm weathered the COVID-era market disruption, installed institutional-grade underwriting and servicing practices, and restructured underperforming legacy assets.

New Direction

In 2022, a management-led buyout—backed by White Oak Capital Holdings—solidified Red Oak’s next chapter. The transaction established a new governance structure, introduced key leadership talent, and positioned the firm to scale thoughtfully with a focus on performance, discipline, and risk management.

Full Service

Today, Red Oak operates as a fully integrated commercial real estate lender and investment manager, offering short-term bridge loans, long-term HUD-insured mortgages, and private credit investment vehicles through its affiliated platforms, including Red Oak FHA Capital and Oak Real Estate Partners.

With a growing team, expanding AUM, and a platform designed to support both institutional and private capital, Red Oak continues to evolve—with its foundation firmly rooted in execution, accountability, and investor alignment.
